Today, I will be reviewing a product I have tried recently for the past month. It is the Garnier Light Complete Serum Cream.
I used Garnier products in the past and has been a fan since then. As I have discussed in my previous post, I’ve been dealing with oily and sensitive skin since last year. I used to have normal skin type, but probably due to hormones, addition in my age, the stress of adulthood(???) and pollution causes my breakouts to become a constant presence rather than a bi-annual occurrence. I’ve been doing trial and errors with moisturizers hoping that if I find the right one, it would help stabilize and calm my skin. Also, I was the kind of girl who wasn’t as patient with doing routines and rituals when it comes to skincare and beauty, so anything more than two steps will not stick with me.
Garnier Light Complete Serum Cream is a multi-action whitening day cream that claims to:
- Whitens up to 3 tones fairer (for 28 days according to the disclaimer at the back of the packaging);
- Lightens 3 types of darkening problems (dark spots, dullness, and acne marks);
- 19x more protection (versus non-SPF products).
Garnier Light Complete Serum Cream has SPF 19 and improved with White-Speed. It has pure lemon essence and ultra-light formula that absorbs quickly into the skin. I purchased a 7mL. pack for a trial which is very convenient to bring on travels and saves space in my bag and shelf. But it also comes in a 50mL jar for only PHP 265.
First Impression
Of course, I was excited when I discovered this at the drugstore. I only had good experiences with Garnier products and have been using it when I was in college. I only stopped using their moisturizer due to the fact that it came from my aunt in the US and I believed they discontinued the product. I also used the facial scrub and was thinking of going back to it soon as well.
The Trial
True to its claim, this moisturizer was ultra-light and absorbs quickly and easily into my skin. It also didn’t leave a greasy film that would make me uncomfortable to wear it. The pure-lemon essence also gives the product a nice fresh scent that is mild and won’t inhibit me from using it.Though I am not sure about others, the scent was like a combination of lemon and ginger undertones. My skin improved a lot from using it. Even though I didn’t use it as it should be, every day for 28 days to see the true result, my breakouts lessened, only appearing when Aunt Flo came for a visit, and my skin felt moisturized.
Final Thoughts
I think I found the moisturizer I was looking for. My skin is getting better and better with each use. It was softer and smoother to touch. The dark spots lessen and some pimple marks fade. My skin felt refreshed in the morning whenever I used it as a night cream. I am a fan of the brand and their formulation. Garnier never disappoints me, not even once. I will keep on using this when I ran out and even try some other products of the brand as well.
